Barkley takes the Win at Race City
Mere days after receiving his new 2010 Suzuki Hayabusa "Dorothy", Ethan took her to the track. He took part in Race City's Secret Street event Friday July 2nd. Making several shakedown passes, the shiny new Busa settled into a groove running 9.8's most of the evening. If that wasn't enough racing, Ethan went back down to Race City Motorsport park the very next evening for a Calgary Drag Racing Assoc. (C.D.R.A.) bracket event. Ethan qualified second and was becoming more comfortable on "Dorothy" with every pass. As the sun went down and the lights came up, Ethan found himself in the finals against fellow C.M.D.R.A. racer and good friend Rob Aston. Barkley had a great reaction time giving him an advantage right from the start, and crossed the line first touching the brakes slightly running a near perfect 9.821 on his 9.75 dial in.
A big thank you goes out to the entire Race City Motorsport Park staff and all the C.D.R.A. officials, members and volunteers for making me feel so welcome. It's been years since I've attended one of these great local events. I plan on making it down for a few more before this season is over!
